Self Care Essential #4 Feelings
Ayoooooo when it comes to feelings I’m going to have them
Ayoooooo when it comes to feelings I’m going to have them. Let me tell you what I learned over the years about feelings: They come, they go. Feelings essentially is an emotion felt from a natural instinctive state of mind deriving from one's circumstances, mood, or relationships with others. Some people say don’t trust your feelings, but I would say trust your instincts of the feeling. Uhearddddddd! Your instincts serve as a protective factor! In order to protect you, you have to be able to identify the emotion. Back in the day and even now I struggle with identifying the word to describe how I’m feeling. Oftentimes I have to check the circumstance, mood, relationship or myself to reflect. Reflection serves as a tool for me to learn, understand, process and trust what has happened, what is happening and what can happen. The key to reflection is learning how you like to listen to yourself. For me listening to myself looks like journaling, nature walk, devotional, taking deep breaths, reading and operating in silence. When you take the time to listen to yourself, you care for your mind, body, soul and spirit. It allows you to honor positive self thoughts, talks, teaching and things. Check your feelings when they’re good, bad and in between. You might not always know the language but allow breath work, brain-dump and brainstorm to receive, release and revive how you feel. PeriodT
